We’d love to introduce you to this precious oldie - Goldie!

She’s the sophisticated, squeaky-clean eight and a half-year-old lady with excellent manners and a soft spot for affection.

Goldie (the oldie) is an eight and a half-year-old lady whose life has thrown her a few curveballs. She lost both of her previous owners – but thanks to a very kind human, she landed safely with RGRV.  Since then, Goldie has been living with lovely foster pawrents who say she is an absolute sweetie.

She handles baths, nail trims, and grooming like a true pro (actually, Goldie loves being groomed – more attention for her!). She wasn’t so sure about walkies at first, but now? Goldie gets excited when the leash comes out and she adores a short stroll in the park.

Goldie has been living with two cats – at first, she wasn’t so sure of them, but now they’re all pals. She doesn’t bark unless she needs to go out, and she only digs to hide her toys (a girl’s gotta keep her treasures safe, right?).

Goldie really loves people. She soaks up all the love and would be very happy being the only doggo in a home where someone is around most of the time. She is not a fan of car rides – let’s just say she is more of a staycation kind of girl!

Goldie has had a full health check and has even got her teeth cleaned – so she’s all sparkly and ready to go!

So if you're looking for a calm, affectionate, and well-mannered companion who’ll be your shadow (and you’ll be her personal grooming enthusiast), Goldie is ready to pack her blankie and move in!

Adoption Process

RGRV invests significant time getting to know our Goldies to ensure a perfect match between each dog’s needs and their new home. Ensuring the future wellbeing of both the dog and the new owner is our priority, and a good fit between the dog and the adopter is essential.

Minimum criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for adoption:

  • Age restrictions: we do not place dogs in homes with children under the age of 10 years. This policy is strict due to the generally unknown history of our dogs, aiming to minimise potential risks.

  • Home requirements: your residence must have a securely enclosed outdoor area, with fencing and gates at least 1.5 metres high.

  • Yard size: typically, we do not place dogs in homes with small yards (less than the size of a double car garage), unless the dog is elderly and less space is suitable.

  • Housing type: we do not place dogs in apartment blocks, as our dogs generally require more space and a specific living environment.

  • Shelter: your yard must include a covered structural shelter, such as a covered verandah, entertainment area or open garage. A kennel or dog house does not provide adequate shelter.

  • Application process: the adoption questionnaire must be completed by the person(s) who will be named as the new owner(s). We cannot accept questionnaires completed on behalf of someone else, including family members.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS

Prioritising Dog Needs: at RGRV, the welfare of our dogs is our top priority. This means that even if your application is approved, there may be a waiting period before a suitable dog becomes available. Your application will be placed on a waitlist during this time.

Waitlist Confirmation: you are required to confirm your continued interest in adopting every three months by emailing info@rgrv.org.au. Failure to confirm within this period will result in removal from the waitlist.

As RGRV is a charity run by unpaid volunteers, we ask for your patience as it may take time to respond to your application.
