Layla loves to run, splash in puddles, and roll in the mud – but she isn’t the biggest fan of baths. After a good walk, she loves nothing more than a big snuggle and a nice long snooze with her humans.
Here’s some more information about Layla:
She is great on the lead (but still working on her recall skills)
She’s good with cats and other dogs (she would love a Goldie sibling!)
Layla is not a barker or a digger
She adores being inside with her humans, so someone home most of the time is a must
She needs a big backyard to stretch her legs
Layla gets worried about car rides, so she needs a home where she won’t need to travel much
We are looking for an active home for Layla, with someone who’ll take her on (local) adventures that don’t require car rides, love her endlessly, and be around her most of the time.

Adoption Process
RGRV invests significant time getting to know our Goldies to ensure a perfect match between each dog’s needs and their new home. Ensuring the future wellbeing of both the dog and the new owner is our priority, and a good fit between the dog and the adopter is essential.
Minimum criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for adoption:
Age restrictions: we do not place dogs in homes with children under the age of 10 years. This policy is strict due to the generally unknown history of our dogs, aiming to minimise potential risks.
Home requirements: your residence must have a securely enclosed outdoor area, with fencing and gates at least 1.5 metres high.
Yard size: typically, we do not place dogs in homes with small yards (less than the size of a double car garage), unless the dog is elderly and less space is suitable.
Housing type: we do not place dogs in apartment blocks, as our dogs generally require more space and a specific living environment.
Shelter: your yard must include a covered structural shelter, such as a covered verandah, entertainment area or open garage. A kennel or dog house does not provide adequate shelter.
Application process: the adoption questionnaire must be completed by the person(s) who will be named as the new owner(s). We cannot accept questionnaires completed on behalf of someone else, including family members.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS
Prioritising Dog Needs: at RGRV, the welfare of our dogs is our top priority. This means that even if your application is approved, there may be a waiting period before a suitable dog becomes available. Your application will be placed on a waitlist during this time.
Waitlist Confirmation: you are required to confirm your continued interest in adopting every three months by emailing info@rgrv.org.au. Failure to confirm within this period will result in removal from the waitlist.
As RGRV is a charity run by unpaid volunteers, we ask for your patience as it may take time to respond to your application.
